October 2024 – i want what SHE has

346 “Infertilities” and “Missed-Conceptions”

For many years I’ve imagined a group art experience where folks can share through some artistic means their story in trying to become a parent. As someone who experienced 6 miscarriages, much heartache and also opportunities to grow and learn about myself in my journey to becoming a mother, it’s something I feel is often kept in the shadows. Today I am officially announcing this show for the Spring of 2025, May 7-11 in Kingston, NY to bring it into the light. It’s an open call to anyone who has a story about trying to conceive, adopt, or become a parent in one of the many ways one can. Whether you completed that journey, are still in the midst of it, or have let that path go, you are welcome. Unless you have gone through it yourself, it’s hard to know the true magnitude of how this impacts us, physically, mentally, financially. It’s my hope that people can feel seen and receive support as they express their stories and help illuminate what so many suffer through alone through this community art show.  If you’d like to participate, please feel free to fill out this brief form, or send me an email with any questions.

About a year or so ago, I found a book that convinced me I was ready to do this show. It was in a pile of books at Radio Kingston free to take. On today’s show I’ll share stories from that book, Infertilities, a curation edited by Elizabeth Horn, Maria Novotny and Robin Silbergleid. NOTE: these stories may be activating for those who have a personal connection to the subject matter.

Here’s your New Moon report. “Channel some of this creative, fertile Haumea energy by focusing on what you wish to create. Channel it towards solutions and hope for a brighter future.”

345 Samhain and the Change of Seasons with Jenny Mulak and Beth Carestia of The Goddess Party

Today I got to sit down with two of the Goddesses from The Goddess Party, Jenny Mulak and Beth Carestia. We talk about the turn of the seasons and what arises for us as we move through Autumn into the dark of Winter. Other topics on the show today, piercing the veil, Samhain meaning and rituals, Goddesses, Divine Feminine, ancestors, tarot and archetypes. Get your tickets for the next The Goddess Party performance on November 1st at Basillica Hudson before they’re gone…

Jenny Mulak is a healer, a problem solver, an herbalist, flower practitioner and energy worker, a writer, a recovering rule follower, and a curious student of spiritual teachings.  Jenny is the founder, alchemist and earth steward behind Cosmic Mother – a botanical skincare and herbal potions line – handcrafted with plants from her garden and local farms. She is delighted to make her home in Shokan, NY with her partner, Ariel, and their two rescue pups.

It is here that she recovered from her years of corporate life – where she was good at her job as a program manager, but never satisfied as she wasn’t even close to being aligned with her life’s purpose.  As she continues to strip away years of programming and societal and familial conditioning, the plants support her every step of the way.

Nature has been Jenny’s greatest teacher and healer.  She is passionate about sharing with others how living in harmony with the cycles of Nature can connect us back to ourselves and the embrace of the cosmos and Mother Earth.

Beth Carestia has been living in the Kingston area for over a decade and has come to love our sweet community. She’s a proud Rosendale Ukulele Group member and an O+ alum with The Goddess Party. Most recently she hosted the O+ Comedy show, a major personal highlight. Also know as a local Tarot Reader and an all around shenanigan having woman, she brings joy wherever she goes.

343 Holly Troy “I am Divine Love”

Holly Troy is an artist, writer, teacher and musician, whose work explores forms for “deep play.” Her passion is to create positive transformation through imagination, movement, pranayama, co-creation, and playful embodiment.

Holly envisions a world where people have the tools and resources to be their authentic selves as conscious creators contributing to a renaissance of human potential that uplifts all of humanity and every being on the planet.

Holly came of age as a musician on the Lower East Side, New York City in the 80s and 90s. She earned her yoga teaching certificate from Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center in 1996. She holds a degree in Creative Writing and Studio Art from Hunter College. Her painting has been the subject of solo shows in the USA and is held in private collections across the US, Europe and Australia. She is based in upstate New York.

You should also know that she hails from an illustrious lineage of fortune tellers, yogis, folk healers, troubadours and poets of the fine and mystical arts. Shape-shifting Tantric Siren of the Lunar Mysteries, she surfs the ebbs and flows of the multiverse on the Pure Sound of Creation. Her alchemy is Sacred Folly — revolutionary transformation through Love, deep play, Beauty, and music.

She believes creativity, love, kindness, radical authenticity, and self-care are imperative for a just and sustainable world.

She’s leading a workshop this weekend, I am Divine Love,  as a part of the O+ Festival on Sunday, at the Good Work Institute at 4:30pm.

Today Holly shared the background in developing this workshop and what to expect. We talk about the themes of Love, true self, play, fun, and presence, and Holly shares about her lineage and how she became who she is now, someone who is forever exploring and choosing to see the world through love and play.

“There’s going to be pain in life but suffering is optional…”
