S.1 E.9 Ben Brown “Embodying the Feminine and the Masculine”

Ben Brown is a sound practitioner, visual artist, and New York State-licensed massage therapist whose work resides at the intersection of art, healing, and ancestral resonance. Blending vibrational sound, visual expression, and conscious experiences, Ben creates immersive offerings that provide refuge from social-emotional isolation and invite the mind and body into deeper states of presence, spaciousness, and awareness.

Guided by the belief that sound art unites inner wisdom and collective memory, Ben crafts listening environments emphasizing the felt sense of vibration and its capacity to recalibrate consciousness and the nervous system. His method explores how frequencies and our senses reconnect us to intuition and the innate wisdom embedded in our bodies. Ben offers individual and group sound meditations and self-care workshops. He currently practices in New York City and the Hudson Valley, NY.

Our conversation introduces listeners to Ben and his work. We hear about how his trajectory changed and how he landed in his current fields where he feels most aligned. He opens up about his relationship to the feminine and the masculine, anger and smelling like roses. His upcoming events, including a special Soundbath for Peace at Innisfree Gardens and the seasonal Sound Sanctuary at TEMPO in Kingston, can be found on his website and announced on Instagram. https://www.handandtemple.com/events You can find him here https://www.handandtemple.com/ and on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/hnd_tmpl/

S.1 E.8 Gabrielle Heron “The Encouraging Priestess on Marrying Yourself”

On today’s show we get to chat with Gabrielle Heron. She is a performance artist and ceremonialist known as The Encouraging Priestess. Through her self-marriage project, she’s guided nearly 2,000 people to marry themselves. She lovingly messes with wedding tropes, re-wiring how identity and sovereignty are claimed. She invites you to marry yourself, your projects and other people too. She gives us the backstory on how Marrying Oneself has become an important part of her work, what Self Marriage is, and the rituals she creates to support this deep experience. Gabrielle shares anecdotes of her years doing this work, the vows she offers for folks to consider and how this can not only help you be a better lover of self, but also to those you are in relationship with. We weave in news of the upcoming The Goddess Party performance where audience members will be invited to join in the big wedding to marry oneself. Stay tuned for Gabrielle’s forthcoming Chapbook and full manual on how to perform this monumental ritual for yourself. She can be found at https://www.encouragingpriestess.com/ and info on The Goddess Party and tickets to their upcoming show can be found at https://www.thegoddessparty.org/
